About Blue September
Each year, more than 22,000* Australian men are expected to die of cancer. Blue September is aimed at raising awareness about cancers that affect thousands of men each year in Australia, that may be preventable through lifestyle choices.
The campaign slogan, "Facing Up To Cancer in Men", is brought to life by men, women and children painting their faces blue or 'getting blue' in some other way. Famous faces including sporting legends, celebrities and other prominent Australians are all part of the campaign, painting their faces in support of Blue September.
The Blue September campaign, an initiative of the Big Health Foundation, encourages all Australians to 'Get Blue' and face up to cancer in men. Funds raised in Australia support equally the two chosen beneficiaries the Australian Cancer Research Foundation and Bowel Cancer Australia. Through Blue September, the three organisations work together to raise awareness of cancers affecting men and funds for vital cancer research.
